Carlos Ayala, MD, FACS, attended David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA, and received his medical degree and induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1999. Then, he served his general surgery internship and clinical fellowship in surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, MA, respectively Harvard School of Medicine (1999-2000). Furthermore, he conducted his otolaryngology residency at Harvard School of Medicine/Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (2000-2004). In addition, he completed his fellowship training in facial plastic surgery at Lasky Clinic Surgical Center in Beverly Hills, CA (20019-2010). In 2007, he completed the Aerospace Medicine Primary Course for Flight Surgeons and in 2004 he graduated from the Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American College of Surgeons. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing acquired at State University of New York, Binghamton (1991), where he also became an inductee of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing. Dr. Ayala is extensively published author, as well as seasoned presenter, researcher, and academic. He has participated in numerous medical missions and remains a participant with Faces of Honor, an American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery program to help wounded war veterans.
